Religious & National Celebration

March 25, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

25th of March 1821: Freedom or Death?
1st of April 1955: Wherever you might be, hear our voice: Forward!

If it were not for those courageous Greeks of 1821, and their 400-year dream of freedom from slavery, most of our culture, our language and our Greek Orthodox Christian faith would not exist. On that historic 25th day of March in 1821, the day of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in the Orthodox Church, Greeks of all ages, men, women, and children revolted against Ottoman Turkish colonists occupying our homeland. We remember that handful of Greeks of 1821 who gave us the hope, belief, and proof that if a cause is just, it will succeed. We also commemorate Cypriots’ determination to fight against British and their will for dignity and honour, on the 1st of April 1955, a day of national pride and rebirth for the whole of Hellenism.

You are all cordially invited to our celebratory feasts in honour of the Greek Revolution, the Feast of the Annunciation and the Greek Cypriot Revolution that will take place on the 25th of March 2018 at 13:00 at the Greek School of Coventry Hall!

We are looking forward to seeing you all there!

Kind regards
The students & the teachers
