Greek school of Coventry is a school at the heart of the community where everyone is nurtured and inspired to achieve their full potential on their journey to learn Greek. Our vision is to be a great school which has high expectations and where we all achieve great things, individually and together, within a nurturing Christian Orthodox ethos through our core values of love, honesty and respect.
At the Greek school of Coventry, we strive to promote the inclusion, well-being and achievement of our students. Also, we strive to ensure equitable and fair educational opportunities for all students by allocating resources fairly and equitably, providing diverse learning opportunities, and demonstrating a commitment to equity and fairness across the school.
Where children have additional needs, measures are taken to prevent these from becoming a barrier to learning. Our school welcomes all learners and is committed to providing them with the entitlement to succeed and reach the highest level of personal achievement. Our Syllabus incorporates Modern Greek Language up to A Level, history, religious education, theatre and singing.
Our values guide the way we work:

We are happy to announce that our school was among the 16 first-prize winners in our category-short film. We participated in this competition organised by the Greek and Cypriot Ministries of Education with a short film about young Cypriots in England and how they identify themselves in a multicultural environment. What makes it important is that we got this place, among 1400 entries, from schools in Greece, Cyprus and the Diaspora. Massive thanks to everyone involved especially students who took part and became role models for the rest! It’s such a great moment for our school and community!

2015 & 2017-GOLD & BRONZE AWARD by NRCSE
We are proud that The Greek School of Coventry first received a Gold Award from the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education (NRCSE) in 2011. This is a highly prestigious award and our school was the first Greek Supplementary school to achieve this gold standard in the UK. We have maintained our high educational standards and gone on to achieve this gold award in 2015 and 2017.
The NRCSE Gold Award is a really big achievement and takes a lot of work. This award highlights the excellent teaching and outstanding learning environment at our school. A Quality Assurance Mentor observed and assessed assembly and classes, conducted a thorough examination of policies and spoke with pupils, teachers and headteacher as part of the formal assessment.
The achievement is a testimony to the collective efforts from our pupils, parents and voluntary helpers. We are committed to providing a positive and rewarding learning environment and hope we can continue to build on this success in the future.
Α huge thank you to our School Coordinator, Mr Andrew Papageorgi and the Head teacher, Eleni Tsilipira for their major contributions in achieving these awards. We would also want to express our deepest gratitude to our excellent Mentor, Karen Gardiner.
