School Event Invitation

March 2, 2017

Dear all.

25th of March 1821: It was the time that the conditions for the uprising of the Greeks riped. The people of Greece shouted “Freedom or Death” and they began the War of Independence against Turkish slavery who held Greece captive for 400 years. The day of March 25 is one not only of political significance but of religious significance as well, allowing the Greek Orthodox to commemorate God’s message to Mary.

To those celebrations we proudly add another anniversary, that commemorating the revolution of 1 April 1955, of another part of Hellenism, the Cypriot people, who claimed their own independence in 1955-1959 against the British Colonialism and occupation, to finally achieve it by their glorious struggles.

We therefore extend a cordial invitation to you all to the celebratory feasts that will take place at the Greek School of Coventry on the 26th of March, at 13:30, at the School Hall, after the Liturgy.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there!!

Kind regards

The students & the teachers
